find your style! part 1

let's talk about the art style. how do you discover your art style? for few, it comes naturally.  but from what I've experienced it can be a pain because you want to keep the way you make art somewhat consistent. keeping your art style could someday be a trademark to your art altogether.  yet consistently in my style is something I still have trouble with. it's always changing and I'm always learning new techniques.

your personal style needs to have rules, constants, and can't really be spontaneous. it needs to be intentional, and something that you can use over and over again.  like human anatomy is something that I struggle with, it's hard to imagine and keep my general style the same.

but your potential style is influenced but what you are inspired by or who you're inspired by. it's important to research or look up other art styles to expand your mind and ideas. it's good to watch multiple people draw and try to recreate or somewhat copy their style, in order to experiment and expand your thinking to what type of style best suits you!
